Bitbucket Cloud MCP server for AI agents.

actionlake is an MCP gateway: one remote MCP server that connects Claude and other MCP clients to Bitbucket Cloud and the rest of your systems. It gives your agent 281 Bitbucket Cloud actions (148 reads, 83 writes and 50 that wait for a confirmation) and holds the Bitbucket Cloud credential itself, so the agent never does. It paces Bitbucket Cloud's limits and records every call.

100,000 free calls a month. No card, no email, no password: press Start a free sandbox on the next screen and keep the key it shows you.

Set up

Connect Bitbucket Cloud in three steps.

  1. 01

    Add actionlake to Claude.

Run the command once in Claude Code; its consent page can create a free sandbox: 100,000 calls a month, no card. In the Claude app, add a custom connector with the URL below and paste your key on the consent page. Creating a new sandbox from the Claude app is not yet tested by us.

    https://connect.actionlake.com/mcp
  2. 02

    Connect Bitbucket Cloud.

Username and secret. No consent screen: your agent can connect it for you, but the key then passes through your chat. To keep it out of the model's context, paste it in the console instead. actionlake stores what you paste write-only, sealed under your tenant's key.

    • emailAtlassian account email
    • api_tokenBitbucket API token
    account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "bitbucket" }
    # free: exactly what to paste, and what is found for you
  3. 03

Make the first call. Check before a write.

Ask in plain words; Claude picks the action. Before anything changes, check validates the call and prices it, for free.

do { action: "bitbucket.user.workspaces_list" }# list workspaces for the current user · read · 1 upstream callcheck { action: "bitbucket.projects.create", input: { … } }# free: inputs, permissions, cost and confirmations, nothing sent

Top actions

The Bitbucket Cloud API, shaped for agents.

The ids your agent types, what each does, and the one name it shares with other systems. 145 of Bitbucket Cloud's 150 action names are shared with at least one other connector, so an agent learns them once.

The plan store

Ready-made plans for Bitbucket Cloud.

9 plans in the store. Install one and your agent runs it by name; the reply says which connections are still missing. A schedule can run a plan on a timetable. There are no triggers or webhooks, by design.

  1. Sweep open pull requests and flag the stale ones

Use it when An agent needs the current state of every open pull request in one repository before deciding what to review or merge.

    Effect
    read
    Steps
    3 · loops
    Needs
    repo slug and workspace
    Install

    Steps
    5 · loops
    Needs
    repo slug and workspace
    Install
    bitbucket-repo-access-audit
  3. Rotate a secured pipeline variable across a workspace

Use it when A shared CI secret has been reissued and every place that holds it needs the new value.

A person decidesRotate secured pipeline variable key in workspace workspace and push the new value to number of repo slugs repositories.

    Effect
    write
    Steps
    5 · loops
    Needs
key, new value, repo slugs, variable uuid and workspace

    Effect
    write
    Steps
    6
    Needs
annotations, commit, repo slug, reportid, verdict and workspace
    Install

Use it when A pipeline went red on a branch and someone needs the failing step and test cases explained on the pull request.

    Effect
    write
    Steps
    6
    Needs
pipeline uuid, pull request id, repo slug, step uuid, target branch and workspace
    Install
    bitbucket-failed-pipeline-triage
  6. Check a pull request then merge it after sign-off

Use it when A specific pull request looks ready and someone wants it merged with a human sign-off first.

A person decidesMerge pull request pull request id (title) into name using merge strategy and close the source branch.

    Effect
    write
    Steps
    6
    Needs

A person decidesStart a pipeline on branch branch of workspace/repo slug.

    Effect
    destructive
    Steps
    6
    Needs
    branch, repo slug and workspace

Governance for Bitbucket Cloud

Destructive actions wait for a yes.

50 Bitbucket Cloud actions are destructive. The first 10:

  • Delete a project for a workspacebitbucket.projects.delete
  • Delete a repositorybitbucket.repositories.delete
  • Delete a comment on a pull requestbitbucket.pullrequests.comments_delete
  • Delete an SSH keybitbucket.user_ssh_keys.delete
  • Delete a variable for a userbitbucket.user_variables.delete
  • Delete a variable for a teambitbucket.teams.variables_delete
  • Delete a variable for an environmentbitbucket.environments.variables_delete

  • Delete a known hostbitbucket.pipelines_config.ssh_known_hosts_delete
  • Delete a variable for a workspacebitbucket.workspace_pipelines_config.variables_delete

A destructive action runs only with confirm: true. Under the human policy the agent cannot confirm for itself: the run stops until a named person approves, in the console or from a signed link in an email. The cap on a key is refused before the call is sent, never after.

Cost

What Bitbucket Cloud costs on actionlake.

Every Bitbucket Cloud action is one upstream call, the only thing actionlake bills. Searching, check, cost, account and any call Bitbucket Cloud refused with 401, 403, 429 or a 5xx are free. Paid plans start at US$49 a month for 250,000 calls, with overage from US$0.30 down to US$0.18 per 1,000.

Questions

The Bitbucket Cloud MCP server, answered.

Is there a Bitbucket Cloud MCP server for Claude?

Yes. actionlake is an MCP gateway: a remote MCP server that gives Claude, or another MCP client, 281 Bitbucket Cloud actions across pipelines, access, pullrequests and governance, through the same eight tools it uses for every other connector. actionlake is independent; it is not made or endorsed by Bitbucket Cloud.

What do I need to connect Bitbucket Cloud?

Atlassian account email and Bitbucket API token. The free call account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "bitbucket" } lists exactly what to paste.

Can an AI agent delete or change things in Bitbucket Cloud?

Only if its key allows it, and only with an explicit confirmation. 50 Bitbucket Cloud actions are destructive, including delete a project for a workspace, delete a repository and delete a comment on a pull request. Each runs only with confirm: true. Under the human confirm policy, or an approval rule on the key, the run waits until a named person approves it.

Will an AI agent use up my Bitbucket Cloud API limit?

actionlake paces every call to the limits in the Bitbucket Cloud service file: 1,000 calls an hour per connection. Repeated reads are answered from cache (145 Bitbucket Cloud actions can be), which never reaches Bitbucket Cloud.

What does a Bitbucket Cloud action cost?

One upstream call, the only unit actionlake bills. A list that pages bills one call per page (281 Bitbucket Cloud actions page). Cache hits, searches, dry runs and calls Bitbucket Cloud refused with 401, 403, 429 or a 5xx are free. The Free plan includes 100,000 calls a month with no card. Paid plans start at US$49 a month for 250,000 calls, with overage from US$0.30 down to US$0.18 per 1,000.

Which Bitbucket Cloud API does it cover?

The Bitbucket Cloud API 2.0 at api.bitbucket.org/2.0. It is built from Bitbucket Cloud's documentation as read on 19 September 2026. 281 actions in 17 areas, each one in the signed service file (version 1.0.0).

Does actionlake keep my Bitbucket Cloud data, and where?

actionlake processes and stores data in Sydney, Australia; there is no US region yet. Reads may be cached for up to an hour, and a write clears the reads it affects. Each run's request and response is kept, sealed, for your plan's trace window: 1 day on Free, 3 days on Starter, 7 days on Pro, 14 days on Team, 30 days on Business and 30 days on Enterprise. Your Bitbucket Cloud credential is sealed under your tenant's key, never logged and never returned. Your traffic is not used to train models.

Which AI clients can use it?

Claude Code, tested by us end to end, and the Claude app as a custom connector, tested by us with an existing key. Other MCP clients that support remote servers over Streamable HTTP (MCP revisions 2025-06-18 and 2025-11-25) and OAuth dynamic client registration, or a bearer header, should connect the same way; we have not tested them. Or plain REST, under the same action names.
