# Mixpanel MCP server for AI agents.

actionlake is an MCP gateway: one remote MCP server that connects Claude and other MCP clients to Mixpanel and the rest of your systems. It gives your agent 176 Mixpanel actions (58 reads, 97 writes and 21 that wait for a confirmation) and holds the Mixpanel credential itself, so the agent never does. It paces Mixpanel's limits and records every call.

[Connect Mixpanel free](https://actionlake.com/console?start=sandbox) [See pricing](https://actionlake.com/pricing)

100,000 free calls a month. No card, no email, no password: press Start a free sandbox on the next screen and keep the key it shows you.

`claude mcp add --transport http actionlake https://connect.actionlake.com/mcp`

the first call

```
do {
  action: "mixpanel.annotations.list",
  intent: "check which Mixpanel account is connected"
}
# List annotations · read · 1 upstream call
```

- 176 actions in one signed file
- 58 read look, never change
- 97 write create and update
- 21 wait for a yes destructive, confirmed first

Set up

## Connect Mixpanel in three steps.

1. 01
   ### Add actionlake to Claude.
   Run the command once in Claude Code; its consent page can create a free sandbox: 100,000 calls a month, no card. In the Claude app, add a custom connector with the URL below and paste your key on the consent page. Creating a new sandbox from the Claude app is not yet tested by us.
   `https://connect.actionlake.com/mcp`
2. 02
   ### Connect Mixpanel.
   Username and secret. No consent screen: your agent can connect it for you, but the key then passes through your chat. To keep it out of the model's context, paste it in the console instead. actionlake stores what you paste write-only, sealed under your tenant's key.
   - `username` Mixpanel service account username
   - `secret` Mixpanel service account secret (blank when authenticating with a project secret)
   - `host` Where your Mixpanel lives: your host
   - `project_id` Your Mixpanel project id
   - `project_token` Your Mixpanel project token
   ```
   account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "mixpanel" }
   # free: exactly what to paste, and what is found for you
   ```
3. 03
   ### Make the first call. Check before a write.
   Ask in plain words; Claude picks the action. Before anything changes, `check` validates the call and prices it, for free.
   ```
   do    { action: "mixpanel.annotations.list" }
   # list annotations · read · 1 upstream call
   check { action: "mixpanel.events.track", input: { … } }
   # free: inputs, permissions, cost and confirmations, nothing sent
   ```

Top actions

## The Mixpanel API, shaped for agents.

The ids your agent types, what each does, and the one name it shares with other systems. 60 of Mixpanel's 63 action names are shared with at least one other connector, so an agent learns them once.

Try it

## Prompts to paste into Claude.

Each one names the Mixpanel actions it will call, so you know what it reads and what it changes before you send it.

1. Read read
   List annotations in Mixpanel and tell me what stands out.
   calls `mixpanel.annotations.list`
2. Plan write
   Stitch an anonymous visitor to a new signed-up account in Mixpanel.
   calls `mixpanel.identities.identify` `mixpanel.identities.create_alias` `mixpanel.profiles.set` `mixpanel.profiles.set_once` `mixpanel.groups.set` +1 more
3. Plan write
   Read an experiment's results and call it in Mixpanel. Ask me before anything is sent or changed.
   calls `mixpanel.experiments.get` `mixpanel.segmentation.query` `mixpanel.experiments.decide` `mixpanel.experiments.force_conclude` `mixpanel.experiments.archive`
4. Write write
   Track an event (US) in Mixpanel. Show me exactly what you will send before you save it.
   calls `mixpanel.events.track`

The plan store

## Ready-made plans for Mixpanel.

8 plans in the store. Install one and your agent runs it by name; the reply says which connections are still missing. A schedule can run a plan on a timetable. There are no triggers or webhooks, by design.

1. ### Report on every saved funnel for the last week
   Use it when Someone wants the week's conversion numbers for all saved funnels, marked on the project timeline.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   4 · loops
   **Needs**
   from date and to date
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-weekly-funnel-report`
2. ### Create an A/B experiment and launch it after sign-off
   Use it when A team wants a Mixpanel experiment set up and turned on, but not turned on without a person agreeing.
   A person decides Launch experiment '_name_' (_created_) and begin serving its variants to live traffic.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   5
   **Needs**
   workspace id, name and hypothesis
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-launch-experiment`
3. ### Check every export pipeline and flag the stalled ones
   Use it when You want to know whether any Mixpanel export pipeline has stalled before someone downstream notices missing data.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   5 · loops
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-pipeline-health-sweep`
4. ### Drill into retention for a cohort's key event
   Use it when Someone asks why retention moved for a particular event and wants the supporting breakdown, not just the headline number.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   5
   **Needs**
   event, from date, to date and breakdown property
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-retention-drilldown`
5. ### Read an experiment's results and call it
   Use it when An experiment has run long enough and someone needs to declare the winner and shut it down.
   A person decides Declare variant '_variant_' the outcome of experiment _experiment id_ and conclude it, ending traffic to all variants.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   6
   **Needs**
   workspace id, experiment id, metric event, from date, to date and variant
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-conclude-experiment`
6. ### Stitch an anonymous visitor to a new signed-up account
   Use it when A visitor has just created an account and their pre-signup activity needs to follow them into the identified profile.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   6
   **Needs**
   distinct id, anon id, email and company id
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-signup-identity-stitch`
7. ### Trigger a warehouse import and wait for it to finish
   Use it when A warehouse import needs to be run now rather than on its schedule, and someone must confirm the backfill before it starts.
   A person decides Run warehouse import _import id_ now, outside its schedule, writing its rows into the project. Requested by _requested by_.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   6
   **Needs**
   import id
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-warehouse-import-run`
8. ### Erase a person from Mixpanel on request
   Use it when A user has asked to be deleted and every residency region must be cleared with a signed-off audit trail.
   A person decides Permanently erase Mixpanel profile _distinct id_ from the US, EU and India regions, requested by _requested by_. This cannot be undone.
   **Effect**
   destructive
   **Steps**
   6
   **Needs**
   distinct id, from date and to date
   **Install**
   `mixpanel-gdpr-delete-profile`

install a plan

```
account { op: "plans.install", slug: "mixpanel-weekly-funnel-report" }
# then ask for it by name; a schedule can run it on a timetable
```

Governance for Mixpanel

## Destructive actions wait for a yes.

21 Mixpanel actions are destructive. These are all of them:

- Delete a warehouse import `mixpanel.warehouse_imports.delete`
- Delete a group profile (US) `mixpanel.groups.delete`
- Delete a user profile (US) `mixpanel.profiles.delete`
- Delete a group profile (EU) `mixpanel.groups_eu.delete`
- Delete a group profile (India) `mixpanel.groups_in.delete`
- Delete a user profile (EU) `mixpanel.profiles_eu.delete`
- Delete a user profile (India) `mixpanel.profiles_in.delete`
- Delete a service account `mixpanel.service_accounts.delete`
- Merge two identities ($merge) (US) `mixpanel.identities.merge`
- Merge two identities ($merge) (EU) `mixpanel.identities_eu.merge`
- Merge two identities ($merge) (India) `mixpanel.identities_in.merge`
- Delete an experiment `mixpanel.experiments.delete`
- Delete an annotation `mixpanel.annotations.delete`
- Cancel a data pipeline (US) `mixpanel.pipelines.cancel`
- Cancel a data pipeline (EU) `mixpanel.pipelines_eu.cancel`
- Cancel a data pipeline (India) `mixpanel.pipelines_in.cancel`
- Delete a feature flag `mixpanel.feature_flag_definitions.delete`
- Remove service accounts from projects `mixpanel.service_accounts.remove_from_projects`
- Delete a Lexicon schema `mixpanel.schemas.delete`
- Delete all Lexicon schemas `mixpanel.schemas.delete_all`
- Delete Lexicon schemas of a type `mixpanel.schemas.delete_by_type`

A destructive action runs only with `confirm: true`. Under the `human` policy the agent cannot confirm for itself: the run stops until a named person approves, in the console or from a signed link in an email. The cap on a key is refused before the call is sent, never after.

do mixpanel.warehouse_imports.delete confirm_policy: **human**

Delete a warehouse import?

**intent:** the user asked me to delete a warehouse import

run suspended · waiting for a named person · key _mixpanel-agent_ cannot confirm itself

In the console, or from an emailed signed link.

a key for this connector

```
account {
  op: "keys.create", name: "mixpanel-agent",
  allowed_actions: ["mixpanel.*"], cap_calls: 2000,
  confirm_policy: "human_for_writes",
  approval_rules: [
    { match: "mixpanel.warehouse_imports.delete", approver: "lead@example.com" },
    { match: "mixpanel.groups.delete", approver: "lead@example.com" },
    { match: "mixpanel.profiles.delete", approver: "lead@example.com" }
  ]
}
```

Illustrative. Scoped to Mixpanel only, capped at 2,000 upstream calls, every write confirmed, and the destructive ones approved by a named person.

Cost

## What Mixpanel costs on actionlake.

Questions

## The Mixpanel MCP server, answered.

**Is there a Mixpanel MCP server for Claude?**

Yes. actionlake is an MCP gateway: a remote MCP server that gives Claude, or another MCP client, 176 Mixpanel actions across profiles, pipelines, groups and ingestion, through the same eight tools it uses for every other connector. actionlake is independent; it is not made or endorsed by Mixpanel.

**What do I need to connect Mixpanel?**

Mixpanel service account username and Mixpanel service account secret (blank when authenticating with a project secret). Plus your host, your project id and your project token. The free call account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "mixpanel" } lists exactly what to paste.

**Can an AI agent delete or change things in Mixpanel?**

Only if its key allows it, and only with an explicit confirmation. 21 Mixpanel actions are destructive, including delete a warehouse import, delete a group profile (US) and delete a user profile (US). Each runs only with confirm: true. Under the human confirm policy, or an approval rule on the key, the run waits until a named person approves it.

**Will an AI agent use up my Mixpanel API limit?**

actionlake paces every call to the limits in the Mixpanel service file: 60 calls an hour, at most 5 at a time per connection. Repeated reads are answered from cache (58 Mixpanel actions can be), which never reaches Mixpanel.

**What does a Mixpanel action cost?**

One upstream call, the only unit actionlake bills. A list that pages bills one call per page (176 Mixpanel actions page). Cache hits, searches, dry runs and calls Mixpanel refused with 401, 403, 429 or a 5xx are free. The Free plan includes 100,000 calls a month with no card. Paid plans start at US$49 a month for 250,000 calls, with overage from US$0.30 down to US$0.18 per 1,000.

**Which Mixpanel API does it cover?**

The Mixpanel API 2026-09 at mixpanel.com by default, or the base URL set when you connect. It is built from Mixpanel's documentation as read on 20 September 2026. 176 actions in 14 areas, each one in the signed service file (version 1.0.0).

**Does actionlake keep my Mixpanel data, and where?**

actionlake processes and stores data in Sydney, Australia; there is no US region yet. Reads may be cached for up to an hour, and a write clears the reads it affects. Each run's request and response is kept, sealed, for your plan's trace window: 1 day on Free, 3 days on Starter, 7 days on Pro, 14 days on Team, 30 days on Business and 30 days on Enterprise. Your Mixpanel credential is sealed under your tenant's key, never logged and never returned. Your traffic is not used to train models.

**Which AI clients can use it?**

Claude Code, tested by us end to end, and the Claude app as a custom connector, tested by us with an existing key. Other MCP clients that support remote servers over Streamable HTTP (MCP revisions 2025-06-18 and 2025-11-25) and OAuth dynamic client registration, or a bearer header, should connect the same way; we have not tested them. Or plain REST, under the same action names.
