# Lucid MCP server for AI agents.

actionlake is an MCP gateway: one remote MCP server that connects Claude and other MCP clients to Lucid and the rest of your systems. It gives your agent 158 Lucid actions (84 reads, 57 writes and 17 that wait for a confirmation) and holds the Lucid credential itself, so the agent never does. It paces Lucid's limits and records every call. Connecting Lucid needs your own Lucid OAuth app and one admin sign-in.

[Connect Lucid free](https://actionlake.com/console?start=sandbox) [See pricing](https://actionlake.com/pricing)

100,000 free calls a month. No card, no email, no password: press Start a free sandbox on the next screen and keep the key it shows you.

`claude mcp add --transport http actionlake https://connect.actionlake.com/mcp`

the first call

```
do {
  action: "lucid.account.get",
  intent: "check which Lucid account is connected"
}
# Get Account Information · read · 1 upstream call
```

- 158 actions in one signed file
- 84 read look, never change
- 57 write create and update
- 17 wait for a yes destructive, confirmed first

Set up

## Connect Lucid in three steps.

1. 01
   ### Add actionlake to Claude.
   Run the command once in Claude Code; its consent page can create a free sandbox: 100,000 calls a month, no card. In the Claude app, add a custom connector with the URL below and paste your key on the consent page. Creating a new sandbox from the Claude app is not yet tested by us.
   `https://connect.actionlake.com/mcp`
2. 02
   ### Connect Lucid.
   OAuth 2.0, authorization code. You register your own OAuth app with Lucid, an admin signs in once, and you paste the app's client id and secret and the tokens from that sign-in; actionlake renews the access token from then on. actionlake stores what you paste write-only, sealed under your tenant's key.
   Before the first sign-in, Lucid needs an OAuth app of your own, registered in its developer portal. actionlake has no Lucid app to lend you.
   - `access_token` Access token from one sign-in with your own OAuth app
   - `refresh_token` Refresh token from the same sign-in; the access token is renewed from it
   - `client_id` Lucid OAuth 2.0 client ID (Lucid Developer Portal > your app > OAuth 2.0)
   - `client_secret` Lucid OAuth 2.0 client secret
   ```
   account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "lucid" }
   # free: exactly what to paste, and what is found for you
   ```
3. 03
   ### Make the first call. Check before a write.
   Ask in plain words; Claude picks the action. Before anything changes, `check` validates the call and prices it, for free.
   ```
   do    { action: "lucid.account.get" }
   # get account information · read · 1 upstream call
   check { action: "lucid.users.create", input: { … } }
   # free: inputs, permissions, cost and confirmations, nothing sent
   ```

Lucid at a glance

**Sign-in**

Top actions

## The Lucid API, shaped for agents.

The ids your agent types, what each does, and the one name it shares with other systems. 24 of Lucid's 24 action names are shared with at least one other connector, so an agent learns them once.

| Action | What it does | Effect | Same name in |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `lucid.users.list` List Users | Retrieves information about all users on the authenticated account. | read | `identity.user.list` 474 connectors |
| `lucid.teams.list` List Teams | Retrieves information about teams the authenticated user has at least read-only access to. | read | `identity.group.list` 262 connectors |
| `lucid.team_users.list` List Users on Team | Retrieves basic information about users on a specified team. | read | `identity.group_member.list` 103 connectors |
| `lucid.users.get` Get User | Retrieves information about the requested user. | read | `identity.user.get` 399 connectors |
| `lucid.documents.search` Search Documents | Search Documents. | read | `content.document.search` 4 connectors |
| `lucid.teams.get` Get Team | Retrieves information about a requested team. | read | `identity.group.get` 212 connectors |
| `lucid.documents.get` Get/Export Document | Retrieves information about the requested document or exports it as an image. | read | `content.document.get` 34 connectors |
| `lucid.users.create` Create User | Creates a new user and adds them to the authenticated account. | write | `identity.user.create` 262 connectors |
| `lucid.users.me` Get Profile | Retrieves basic information about the authenticated user. | read | `identity.current_user.get` 307 connectors |
| `lucid.documents.trash` Trash Document | Moves the specified document to the trash for the requesting user. | destructive | `content.document.delete` 28 connectors |
| `lucid.folders.create` Create Folder | Creates a new folder. | write | `content.folder.create` 62 connectors |
| `lucid.document_comments.create` Post Thread Comment | Posts a new comment to an existing thread on a document. | write | `content.document_comment.create` 6 connectors |

Try it

## Prompts to paste into Claude.

Each one names the Lucid actions it will call, so you know what it reads and what it changes before you send it.

1. Read read
   Who has access in Lucid? List every user and their role.
   calls `lucid.users.list`
2. Write write
   Create User in Lucid. Show me exactly what you will send before you save it.
   calls `lucid.users.create`

Governance for Lucid

## Destructive actions wait for a yes.

17 Lucid actions are destructive. These are all of them:

- Trash Document `lucid.documents.trash`
- Trash Folder `lucid.folders.trash`
- Remove Users from Team `lucid.team_users.remove`
- Delete Document Embed `lucid.document_embeds.delete`
- Transfer User Content `lucid.users.transfer_content`
- Remove Legal Hold Users `lucid.legal_hold_users.remove`
- Remove Users from Repository `lucid.repository_users.remove`
- Delete Credential `lucid.cloud_credentials.delete`
- Remove Groups from Repository `lucid.repository_groups.remove`
- Delete Data Source `lucid.cloud_data_sources.delete`
- Delete Folder Share Link `lucid.folder_share_links.delete`
- Delete Document Share Link `lucid.document_share_links.delete`
- Delete Folder Team Collaborator `lucid.folder_team_collaborators.delete`
- Delete Folder User Collaborator `lucid.folder_user_collaborators.delete`
- Delete Folder Group Collaborator `lucid.folder_group_collaborators.delete`
- Delete Document Team Collaborator `lucid.document_team_collaborators.delete`
- Delete Document User Collaborator `lucid.document_user_collaborators.delete`

A destructive action runs only with `confirm: true`. Under the `human` policy the agent cannot confirm for itself: the run stops until a named person approves, in the console or from a signed link in an email. The cap on a key is refused before the call is sent, never after.

do lucid.team_users.remove confirm_policy: **human**

Remove Users from Team?

**intent:** the user asked me to remove Users from Team

run suspended · waiting for a named person · key _lucid-agent_ cannot confirm itself

In the console, or from an emailed signed link.

a key for this connector

```
account {
  op: "keys.create", name: "lucid-agent",
  allowed_actions: ["lucid.*"], cap_calls: 2000,
  confirm_policy: "human_for_writes",
  approval_rules: [
    { match: "lucid.documents.trash", approver: "lead@example.com" },
    { match: "lucid.folders.trash", approver: "lead@example.com" },
    { match: "lucid.team_users.remove", approver: "lead@example.com" }
  ]
}
```

Illustrative. Scoped to Lucid only, capped at 2,000 upstream calls, every write confirmed, and the destructive ones approved by a named person.

Cost

## What Lucid costs on actionlake.

Every Lucid action is one upstream call, the only thing actionlake bills. Searching, `check`, `cost`, `account` and any call Lucid refused with 401, 403, 429 or a 5xx are free. Paid plans start at US$49 a month for 250,000 calls, with overage from US$0.30 down to US$0.18 per 1,000.

- 1 upstream call per action all 158 Lucid actions
- 158 actions page each page of a long list is one call
- 81 reads can be cached a cache hit costs nothing
- 100,000 calls a month, free paid plans from US$49 a month for 250,000

Questions

## The Lucid MCP server, answered.

**Is there a Lucid MCP server for Claude?**

Yes. actionlake is an MCP gateway: a remote MCP server that gives Claude, or another MCP client, 158 Lucid actions across cloud data sources, cloud models, documents and cloud credentials, through the same eight tools it uses for every other connector. actionlake is independent; it is not made or endorsed by Lucid.

**What do I need to connect Lucid?**

Your own Lucid OAuth app, registered with Lucid (its client id and client secret), and the access and refresh tokens from one admin sign-in. actionlake has no Lucid app of its own, so this is not a one-step consent. actionlake renews the access token as it expires. The free call account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "lucid" } lists exactly what to paste.

**Can an AI agent delete or change things in Lucid?**

Only if its key allows it, and only with an explicit confirmation. 17 Lucid actions are destructive, including trash Document, trash Folder and remove Users from Team. Each runs only with confirm: true. Under the human confirm policy, or an approval rule on the key, the run waits until a named person approves it.

**Will an AI agent use up my Lucid API limit?**

actionlake paces every call to the limits in the Lucid service file: 15 calls a second per connection. Repeated reads are answered from cache (81 Lucid actions can be), which never reaches Lucid.

**What does a Lucid action cost?**

One upstream call, the only unit actionlake bills. A list that pages bills one call per page (158 Lucid actions page). Cache hits, searches, dry runs and calls Lucid refused with 401, 403, 429 or a 5xx are free. The Free plan includes 100,000 calls a month with no card. Paid plans start at US$49 a month for 250,000 calls, with overage from US$0.30 down to US$0.18 per 1,000.

**Which Lucid API does it cover?**

The Lucid REST API (path-versioned /v1 and /v2) at api.lucid.co. It is built from Lucid's documentation as read on 23 October 2026. 158 actions in 39 areas, each one in the signed service file (version 1.0.0).

**Does actionlake keep my Lucid data, and where?**

actionlake processes and stores data in Sydney, Australia; there is no US region yet. Reads may be cached for up to an hour, and a write clears the reads it affects. Each run's request and response is kept, sealed, for your plan's trace window: 1 day on Free, 3 days on Starter, 7 days on Pro, 14 days on Team, 30 days on Business and 30 days on Enterprise. Your Lucid credential is sealed under your tenant's key, never logged and never returned. Your traffic is not used to train models.

**Which AI clients can use it?**

Claude Code, tested by us end to end, and the Claude app as a custom connector, tested by us with an existing key. Other MCP clients that support remote servers over Streamable HTTP (MCP revisions 2025-06-18 and 2025-11-25) and OAuth dynamic client registration, or a bearer header, should connect the same way; we have not tested them. Or plain REST, under the same action names.
