# Airtable MCP server for AI agents.

actionlake is an MCP gateway: one remote MCP server that connects Claude and other MCP clients to Airtable and the rest of your systems. It gives your agent 104 Airtable actions (33 reads, 46 writes and 25 that wait for a confirmation) and holds the Airtable credential itself, so the agent never does. It paces Airtable's limits and records every call.

[Connect Airtable free](https://actionlake.com/console?start=sandbox) [See pricing](https://actionlake.com/pricing)

100,000 free calls a month. No card, no email, no password: press Start a free sandbox on the next screen and keep the key it shows you.

`claude mcp add --transport http actionlake https://connect.actionlake.com/mcp`

the first call

```
do {
  action: "airtable.bases.list",
  intent: "check which Airtable account is connected"
}
# List bases · read · 1 upstream call
```

- 104 actions in one signed file
- 33 read look, never change
- 46 write create and update
- 25 wait for a yes destructive, confirmed first

Set up

## Connect Airtable in three steps.

1. 01
   ### Add actionlake to Claude.
   Run the command once in Claude Code; its consent page can create a free sandbox: 100,000 calls a month, no card. In the Claude app, add a custom connector with the URL below and paste your key on the consent page. Creating a new sandbox from the Claude app is not yet tested by us.
   `https://connect.actionlake.com/mcp`
2. 02
   ### Connect Airtable.
   Bearer token. No consent screen: your agent can connect it for you, but the key then passes through your chat. To keep it out of the model's context, paste it in the console instead. actionlake stores what you paste write-only, sealed under your tenant's key.
   - `token` Airtable personal access token (pat...) or OAuth access token
   ```
   account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "airtable" }
   # free: exactly what to paste, and what is found for you
   ```
3. 03
   ### Make the first call. Check before a write.
   Ask in plain words; Claude picks the action. Before anything changes, `check` validates the call and prices it, for free.
   ```
   do    { action: "airtable.bases.list" }
   # list bases · read · 1 upstream call
   check { action: "airtable.tables.create", input: { … } }
   # free: inputs, permissions, cost and confirmations, nothing sent
   ```

Top actions

## The Airtable API, shaped for agents.

The ids your agent types, what each does, and the one name it shares with other systems. 71 of Airtable's 79 action names are shared with at least one other connector, so an agent learns them once.

| Action | What it does | Effect | Same name in |

Try it

## Prompts to paste into Claude.

Each one names the Airtable actions it will call, so you know what it reads and what it changes before you send it.

1. Read read
   Who has access in Airtable? List every user and their role.
   calls `airtable.users.list`
2. Plan read
   Audit a base's schema, views and collaborators in Airtable.
   calls `airtable.bases.get_schema` `airtable.views.list` `airtable.bases.get_collaborators` `airtable.shares.list`
3. Plan write
   Request an eDiscovery export and wait for it in Airtable.
   calls `airtable.bases.get_schema` `airtable.ediscovery_exports.create` `airtable.ediscovery_exports.get` `airtable.ediscovery_exports.list`
4. Write write
   Create a table in Airtable. Show me exactly what you will send before you save it.
   calls `airtable.tables.create`

The plan store

## Ready-made plans for Airtable.

8 plans in the store. Install one and your agent runs it by name; the reply says which connections are still missing. A schedule can run a plan on a timetable. There are no triggers or webhooks, by design.

1. ### Audit a base's schema, views and collaborators
   Use it when Someone asks what is inside an Airtable base and who has access to it.
   **Effect**
   read
   **Steps**
   4
   **Needs**
   base id
   **Install**
   `airtable-base-schema-audit`
2. ### Triage new intake rows and comment on each
   Use it when New rows have landed in an intake table and each needs an owner, a status and a note.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   3 · loops
   **Needs**
   base id, owner and table id or name
   **Install**
   `airtable-triage-new-intake`
3. ### Request an eDiscovery export and wait for it
   Use it when Legal or compliance needs a full export of an Airtable base and someone must wait for it to finish.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   4
   **Needs**
   base id and enterprise account id
   **Install**
   `airtable-export-base-for-ediscovery`
4. ### Refresh a base's webhooks and drain their payloads
   Use it when Airtable webhooks on a base are near expiry or their payload queue has stopped draining.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   4 · loops
   **Needs**
   base id
   **Install**
   `airtable-sync-webhook-health`
5. ### Create a tracking table with its fields and first record
   Use it when Someone wants a new tracking table set up in an existing Airtable base with its fields ready.
   **Effect**
   write
   **Steps**
   5
   **Needs**
   base id and table name
   **Install**
   `airtable-provision-tracking-table`
6. ### Flag stale records, then delete them after approval
   Use it when A table has accumulated stale rows and someone wants them flagged and then cleared with sign-off.
   A person decides Permanently delete the records flagged as stale in _table id or name_.
   **Effect**
   destructive
   **Steps**
   4 · loops
   **Needs**
   base id, stale formula and table id or name
   **Install**
   `airtable-archive-stale-records`
7. ### Review personal access tokens and revoke the listed ones
   Use it when A token audit has identified personal access tokens that should be revoked.
   A person decides Permanently revoke the listed personal access tokens on this enterprise account.
   **Effect**
   destructive
   **Steps**
   4
   **Needs**
   enterprise account id, since and token ids
   **Install**
   `airtable-revoke-risky-tokens`
8. ### Offboard an enterprise user after a dry run
   Use it when Someone has left and their Airtable enterprise account must be removed with ownership handed over.
   A person decides Run a DRY RUN of removing _email_ from the enterprise account. Nothing is deleted by this step; it reports what the real removal would touch.
   **Effect**
   destructive
   **Steps**
   6
   **Needs**
   enterprise account id, replacement owner id and user id
   **Install**
   `airtable-offboard-enterprise-user`

install a plan

```
account { op: "plans.install", slug: "airtable-base-schema-audit" }
# then ask for it by name; a schedule can run it on a timetable
```

Governance for Airtable

## Destructive actions wait for a yes.

25 Airtable actions are destructive. These are all of them:

- Delete a base `airtable.bases.delete`
- Delete an enterprise user by id `airtable.users.delete`
- Remove a user from the enterprise `airtable.users.remove`
- Delete enterprise users by email `airtable.users.delete_by_email`
- Delete a SCIM user `airtable.scim.users.delete`
- Delete a SCIM group `airtable.scim.groups.delete`
- Delete a record `airtable.records.delete`
- Delete multiple records `airtable.records.delete_multiple`
- Delete a view `airtable.views.delete`
- Delete a comment `airtable.comments.delete`
- Delete HyperDB records `airtable.hyperdb.delete_records`
- Delete a webhook `airtable.webhooks.delete`
- Remove a base collaborator `airtable.base_collaborators.delete`
- Delete a share `airtable.shares.delete`
- Revoke enterprise admin access `airtable.users.revoke_admin`
- Grant enterprise admin access `airtable.users.grant_admin`
- Delete an extension installation `airtable.block_installations.delete`
- Revoke personal access tokens `airtable.personal_access_tokens.revoke`
- Log a user out everywhere `airtable.users.logout`
- Delete a workspace `airtable.workspaces.delete`
- Delete a base invite `airtable.base_invites.delete`
- Delete an interface invite `airtable.interface_invites.delete`
- Remove an interface collaborator `airtable.interface_collaborators.delete`
- Remove a workspace collaborator `airtable.workspace_collaborators.delete`
- Delete a workspace invite `airtable.workspace_invites.delete`

A destructive action runs only with `confirm: true`. Under the `human` policy the agent cannot confirm for itself: the run stops until a named person approves, in the console or from a signed link in an email. The cap on a key is refused before the call is sent, never after.

do airtable.bases.delete confirm_policy: **human**

Delete a base?

**intent:** the user asked me to delete a base

run suspended · waiting for a named person · key _airtable-agent_ cannot confirm itself

In the console, or from an emailed signed link.

a key for this connector

```
account {
  op: "keys.create", name: "airtable-agent",
  allowed_actions: ["airtable.*"], cap_calls: 2000,
  confirm_policy: "human_for_writes",
  approval_rules: [
    { match: "airtable.bases.delete", approver: "lead@example.com" },
    { match: "airtable.users.delete", approver: "lead@example.com" },
    { match: "airtable.users.remove", approver: "lead@example.com" }
  ]
}
```

Illustrative. Scoped to Airtable only, capped at 2,000 upstream calls, every write confirmed, and the destructive ones approved by a named person.

Cost

## What Airtable costs on actionlake.

Every Airtable action is one upstream call, the only thing actionlake bills. Searching, `check`, `cost`, `account` and any call Airtable refused with 401, 403, 429 or a 5xx are free. Paid plans start at US$49 a month for 250,000 calls, with overage from US$0.30 down to US$0.18 per 1,000.

- 1 upstream call per action all 104 Airtable actions
- 104 actions page each page of a long list is one call
- 32 reads can be cached a cache hit costs nothing
- 100,000 calls a month, free paid plans from US$49 a month for 250,000

Questions

## The Airtable MCP server, answered.

**Is there an Airtable MCP server for Claude?**

Yes. actionlake is an MCP gateway: a remote MCP server that gives Claude, or another MCP client, 104 Airtable actions, through the same eight tools it uses for every other connector. actionlake is independent; it is not made or endorsed by Airtable.

**What do I need to connect Airtable?**

Airtable personal access token (pat...) or OAuth access token. The free call account { op: "connections.requirements", service: "airtable" } lists exactly what to paste.

**Can an AI agent delete or change things in Airtable?**

Only if its key allows it, and only with an explicit confirmation. 25 Airtable actions are destructive, including delete a base, delete an enterprise user by id and remove a user from the enterprise. Each runs only with confirm: true. Under the human confirm policy, or an approval rule on the key, the run waits until a named person approves it.

**Will an AI agent use up my Airtable API limit?**

actionlake paces every call to the limits in the Airtable service file: 5 calls a second per connection. Repeated reads are answered from cache (32 Airtable actions can be), which never reaches Airtable.

**What does an Airtable action cost?**

One upstream call, the only unit actionlake bills. A list that pages bills one call per page (104 Airtable actions page). Cache hits, searches, dry runs and calls Airtable refused with 401, 403, 429 or a 5xx are free. The Free plan includes 100,000 calls a month with no card. Paid plans start at US$49 a month for 250,000 calls, with overage from US$0.30 down to US$0.18 per 1,000.

**Which Airtable API does it cover?**

The Airtable API v0 at api.airtable.com. It is built from Airtable's documentation as read on 19 September 2026. 104 actions in 1 area, each one in the signed service file (version 1.0.0).

**Does actionlake keep my Airtable data, and where?**

actionlake processes and stores data in Sydney, Australia; there is no US region yet. Reads may be cached for up to an hour, and a write clears the reads it affects. Each run's request and response is kept, sealed, for your plan's trace window: 1 day on Free, 3 days on Starter, 7 days on Pro, 14 days on Team, 30 days on Business and 30 days on Enterprise. Your Airtable credential is sealed under your tenant's key, never logged and never returned. Your traffic is not used to train models.

**Which AI clients can use it?**

Claude Code, tested by us end to end, and the Claude app as a custom connector, tested by us with an existing key. Other MCP clients that support remote servers over Streamable HTTP (MCP revisions 2025-06-18 and 2025-11-25) and OAuth dynamic client registration, or a bearer header, should connect the same way; we have not tested them. Or plain REST, under the same action names.
